Classic review by Skullberrys posted Feb 17th of 2007.

BROWNSVILLE, TX - Chapa’s Bar “The Pit” was host to yet another show thrown by McAllen natives, DogmaHolloW this past Saturday. The event was dubbed ‘A Night of Absolute Brutality’. The line up was terror-ific, composed of the mighty and famous Slow Grind, Blast Perversion, DogmaHolloW and Decay In Oblivion. Edinburg’s Undying Prophecy were scheduled to perform as well but due to unexpected circumstances, they were unable to make it out to Brownsville for the show. Cesspool was confirmed to stand in and contribute to the night’s depravity. This would mark Blast Perversion’s debut performance at Chapa’s Bar and hopefully one of many to come. Slow Grind hadn’t been to the area in quite a while and would be able to stay the night courtesy of the host. The event has been immortalized on a t-shirt, which was for sale at the show for $23. It’s in color! Blood splatters, mutilated bodies, the works. Read more.

Array of talents at The Pit… Chapa’s Bar, a little spot in Brownsville offering a venue for local and big name bands. It might be a little hard to find if you’re not familiar with the area, but then again, it might just be hard to find if you don’t remember the first time!

This past Saturday, it hosted a line up of great variety of bands. All from a different part of the valley. From rock to all out madness. On the bill were Obscurity, Silence Beyond Humility, Embracing Doom and DogmaHollow. Let’s see what the night had in store for us… Read more.
